The NCC and City of Ottawa offer modest grants to the OWWT (through the Kanata Nordic Ski Club) and to the other Urban Winter Trails. However, these funds fall short of covering maintenance, fuel, and other operational costs, let alone building capital for new and replacement equipment. Remember, unlike Gatineau Park, all grooming here is done by dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly out of passion for the trails and enjoyment in seeing users benefit.

Thanks to donations, we've expanded grooming from Moodie Drive to Carling Ave, connecting with the Britannia Winter Trail network. We've added loops like DND, Christmas Tree, and Water Treatment, and transformed pilot trails on the GreenbeltPath towards Bells Corners and Shirley's Bay into permanent groomed trails, totaling 21km. We now use a high-quality Kubota Mueller Tractor/Groomer on 75% of OWWT weekly, along with PowerSport equipment for other grooming.

However, this increased grooming requires more equipment or modifications, storage, fuel, maintenance, signage, parking solutions, toilets, and community events. Thanks to your generosity, we've recently acquired a new Happy Trails Groomer with a wheel mechanism to better navigate road crossings.

PayPal Donation

Note, that the PayPal account is in Kanata Nordic’s name but all funds will be applied to the OWWT trail. Kanata Nordic Ski Club owns and operates all the grooming equipment used on the OWWT.

You do not need to have a PayPal account for a one-time donation using a credit card. A PayPal account is required if you wish to make a recurring donation.

Donate using Paypal or credit card. Thank you.

Tax Receipt Option

If you would like to give a sizable ($50 and up) donation and would like to get a tax receipt, use this Nordiq Canada Donation Link and pick Kanata Cross Country Ski Club. Please message or email us when done and we will add the donation offline to the GoFundMe total and enter your name into any ongoing raffles.
